I have trouble forking out money for.the latest and greatest on TV's since within a year all the prices will be significantly reduced. I usually aim for middle of the road with a brand and model with great reviews from a few different sources.
Almost forgot yes QLED is worth the extra amd you can find them in a range of price points.
Going to buy one soon. I have had a TCL for 3 years with no issues. Walmart has a 65 in 4k TCL for $228 in a few days on line. I would have to add about $175 for QLED.
We have been TV shopping as well. You have other considerations like how bright is your room, what you will be watching on it, and what viewing angles you expect.
LED may be just fine. Or you may want OLED. QLED is a happy medium between the two, but OLED is the best picture quality (And obviously greatest price too). Also, stay away from entry level Samsungs. There are a lot of negative reviews out there, far more than I expected from Samsung. Now their top of the line TVs are awesome, but not the entry level TVs. Here is a quick run down to help understand the differences.
If you’re looking to buy a new TV, you’ll probably come across terms like LED, QLED, and OLED. These are different types of displays that will affect the
I'm a bit if a TV fanatic. If you want a good midpriced TV that will meet any of your needs buy a Hi-sense UK7.
If you want to move upmarket a little, get a Hi-sense U8K or Sony X90L.
The best miniLED TV out there right now depending on the size you get will be the SONY X93L or X95L (the latter only available in 85").
On the OLED side of things the best picture to price value is going to be the Samsung S90c.
QD is a must. But what will really differentiate one tv from the next is it brightness and its processing. SONY has some magic sauce in their processing that can take a very small amount of data from a crappy source and up-scale that picture to 4k and smooth out imperfections better than anyone other TV maker out there.

I bought a 50" Pioneer Elite Plasma in 09 to watch the 09 Horns play Alabama. I'm embarrassed to say what I paid for it, but it's still a good picture to me. Hell i watch mostly b&w westerns anyway. Technology changes to fast.
You are correct .... But my budjet is $300 or less for a 65 in. TV. I can get a 4K for a little less than that tommorrow.
I'll PM you my address if you would like to make a contribution so I can upgrade.
I think I'd rather have a high quality 55" then a mid quality 65". For example, I bought a top of the line 50" panasonic in 2012, which we still have in our living room, working like a champ. My father in law bought us for our wedding a 55" Samsung 6 years go. That thing died 6 months ago.
Panasonic, I paid way too much, probably $1600. The Samsung was the entry level, and maybe $400 or so? I'm not saying spend more than you can afford, but a slightly smaller, higher quality is probably going to last much longer.
Good luck! We just ordered one last night, and it should be here today. I am hoping there are not more BF sales that what we got on ours.

I agree I have bought a few bottom end tv's and they lasted 3-4 years at best. I look for mid range and stay in the 50-55" class.

Thanks for posting. I was looking at both of the TVs as options. Now Im stuck trying to decide if the U8K is a big enough upgrade for the extra $400 bucks.
