There are actually many discussions on slow page renders and timeouts after updating vbulletin. Does vbulletin even have a tech support? When I was managing the lacy dog forum, it was pretty difficult to find tech support. None of the web developers I spoke to would touch databases.

The past two days, there's been a noticeable speed increase. Much better than it's been for months. I don't know if anything, but I'm pretty sure it's not just my imagination.

Opposition experience here. Infact, has been up there with worst performance in recent memory, all the way to the site being shut down.

When it is humming, it’s good like right now. Then becomes completely unresponsive, all the way to where I have to close out and reopen the site.
