What is the difference between 4" vanes and 2" vanes . I'm having problems with arrow flight with the 2". Which do you prefer

    2 inches

4" vanes will stabilize the arrows better, but are generally heavier than 2". This is one of those questions everyone opinions differ on. try the 4" and see if they work for your set up

Yes 2 inches. I have paper shot them and got them flying thru paper right and when I back up to 20 you can watch them swerve in flight

Sounds more like a tuning issue than a vane issue to me

4". Sometimes the two inch vanes don't have enough time to correct your arrows flight path before hitting the target.

If you can see swerving in flight the vanes will or help that. Are the arrows hitting where you are aiming and grouping together?

I like the 2" quick spin ones.

3.6 Fletch Flex vanes work for me.

i havnt found a reason for 2" vanes yet,,, not that they wont work,, but they wont work better than a 4" and the 4" tend to be quieter to me...

You have a tuning problem not a vane problem.

Moving out to longer distances will exaggerates shooting form and tuning problems.
A bad arrow release will cause this, along with string and rest misalignment, under spinned arrows.

Best bet is to go to your local pro shop and let them take a look.

I went out today and shot they are hitting where I'm aiming. I never had a problem with this with 4 inch vanes but the wife bought me 2 inch vanes arrows for christmas they are the bone collecter mfx

When we shot it thru paper I had them flying perfect

Couple of things. If the outside diameter of your new arrows is not the same as the original ones they will sit differently on the rest. This might cause some minor contact issues that were not there with the original arrows. Also, there could be a spine or length difference accounting for differences in flight. And lastly the 2 inch vanes are taller than the 4 inches, so my first guess would be contact with your cables, and it is making the arrow fly weird. They will hit ok, but fly strangely. Might be time for the foot power test to see if you need to rotate the nocks a little bit to get the clearance you need.

2 inch vanes can and will fly as well as a 4 inch vane if the bow is tuned and there is no contact with the bow.
