question about external battery pack cell camera

i’m hooking up a sol-pack external battery pack to my muddy cell cam and do you put the AA batteries in the cam or leave them out i can’t find any word about it in the manual.
i would think it doesn’t need them but want to make sure thanks !

Not Muddy cams but My Reveals don’t require any internal batteries when using external source. I would think most are the same.

It doesn't need them, but if there, will keep the camera going if external battery fails/dies.

I have AA batteries in my cameras even though I'm running two 6V feeder batteries (in parallel) for my power setups. My main reason is that I have to remove the external power plug from the camera in order to open the camera and get the SD card out. The AA batteries keep the power on while the front of my camera is open. FWIW, my AA batteries now last well over a year in my cameras!
