Powdered Sugar Mixed in Deer Corn?

I have heard of a lot of attractants people try. I myself have spent so much money on all kinds of different stuff to try and pull and deer in to my setup. I saw a gentlemen on FB on a Louisiana hunting site that said all he uses is plain corn with powdered sugar mixed in. Has anyone else ever tried this? What is your go to attractant for deer?

Just plain old corn works for my deer. All those additives and scents work pretty good on your bank account.

Nothing attracts deer better than corn.

Plain corn. Deer don’t need gimmicks. They will come to corn.

I've done taste tests with small piles of Golden Nuggets (L&E version is Blast) vs. corn of quasi-tame deer in central TX and most have a preference for the formulated product. otoh, deer here don't care much for cottonseed or alfalfa hay.

But all deer will eat the corn if the other stuff isn't there so will you attract more deer with flavors? I doubt it.

I have used sweet feed or goat mix 50/50 with deer corn, the Mole assses in the mix carries a sweet scent and it bring in the Does( hoes) for the bucks. lol

Corn is the gold (no pun intended) standard for sure.

"just plain corn" guys are probably "just salt and pepper on my steak" guys too. does it work, yep, is it good, yep, can it be better, yep.

my thoughts are that if every slingin * in your area is throwing plain corn, why not mix it up a bit and give them something different that MAY or MAY not help draw a big buck to your spot? maybe you find that one that really likes the taste of powdered sugar or rice bran or golden nuggets and he sticks closer to your spot just for that.

i know a few guys here swear by that nilly corn...maybe there is something to it.
