    Home and Car Insurance

My wife and I have been discussing changing our home and auto insurance carrier. We have been with Allstate for 17 years and all we see are rate increases. No claims have been filed on home or auto.
Who do you recommend? We are completely open at this point.

    And GO..

Yea, not really something I am looking forward to. I can bet I will get about 1,000 emails and phone calls.....

I just laid out all of my policies this morning. Going to get a spreadhseet together and find an independent agent in my area. I am with State Farm so I am pretty sure I can find someone a little easier on my wallet.

If you're with All State or State Farm you can do better.

Get with Cale here on TBH and let them do the work finding you the best policies and rates.

I went through this recently. I’m with State Farm and they go up every 6 months. I reached out to idk how many Insurance brokers and no one could save me enough to make it worth it to switch. Could get the house cheaper but the car was more expensive or vise versus. Insurance sucks now. Worth reaching out to a broker just to see but don’t expect a crazy difference

Anyone is probably cheaper than AS if you`ve been with them that long without changing.

Did this a few years ago after being with SF for 15+ years. THey did not even try to keep me when I called them to cancel. I eventually landed on Progressive which was the best for me at the time. Since then my lovely wife rear ended someone in traffic so that shot our rates up and will be that way for like 3 years until that falls off. I will likely be looking again soon.

Rollo Insurance with The Insurance Guy on here. They switched me over to Germania last year and saved me a lot of money

Insurance has gone downhill really quickly.. I wouldnt be suprised if what you have now is the best you can find. There are only 9-10 carriers even doing business in the state right now.

News flash they’re all going up. There aren’t any good companies.

I was told that Germania has a hold on writing any new homeowners policies.

I met with my independent insurance agent today. Basically, all the insurance companies are raising rates, dropping coverage, no longer accepting new customers, or outright refusing to service Texas any longer. Progressive for example, is not renewing any homeowner policies in Texas. They just denied 3 different homeowner hail claims for me that are not even disputable. They just don’t give a hoot about Texas homeowners policies. Insurance is truly a mess right now in Texas.

Get yourself an Independent agent and shop all the insurance companies that are left.

I have state farm and have since I started driving. Everytime I buy a house or car I'm told the same thing, you can do better than state farm. So far theyve been the cheapest everytime. My agent recently retired and I am going to a broker next week just to see again.

Yep. Happy with them. Lowered my auto big time and increased coverage. With car prices what they are there are so many people under insured.
