    Rain-X on cameras?

Just about every morning, there is so much dew on my cameras that they don’t take clear photos or don’t take photos at all. Has anyone tried Rain-X on the lenses and does it work without harming camera?

    Thanks

Sounds like a good idea! But I haven't tried it, yet. Maybe use the Rain-X wipes?

Yes it works, it’s not 100% but it helps a bunch

Might help more if you put some type of "cap bill" over the top so the dew is less likely to actually hit the lense. I have seen some folks do that........ good luck.

I just ordered these to solve the exact same problem. Cheap enough they are worth a shot. Won't get them on until next weekend.

I don’t see how this can prevent dew from getting on the lens. It doesn’t drip down from above, it’s condensation that forms.

Surely there is a good diy way to cover from rain/dew. I made one out of an upside down battery tray that works pretty well. I’m considering other DIY ideas as well. I think keeping them dry from moisture will prolong their service life.

True statement ! I’ve tried all of the above other than Rain X to no avail ! I’ve used complete encasements with glass front enclosure with seal - no good !

I've used the wipes last year with good results. Thanks for the reminder because I need to carry them out there this weekend for the same reason.
