It took a mature kid to play for him but if you wanted to learn the game of basketball he was great. As a person not so much.

He'd make you want to win or make you quit. I think that was what he set out to do, and he did it. RIP Coach

One of the best press conferences bobby ever did was after a loss and he addressed the issue of not having a “game face” classic Bobby knight.

Came to a struggling Tech program and had them making runs in the tourney in no time. Hell of a coach.

My favorite Bob Knight moment is when he engaged in a food fight with a TTU regent. I believe he threw salad at the Regent

If that is what you have to do to win then no thank you. I am sorry he passed but does not change how he treated people.
Sounds like the coaches when I played Pop Warner football in the 60's.

                      RIP sir.

I could never decide if I liked coach Knight or not. When he was at Tech he did a weekly show on the radio here in Ft Worth, and while I enjoyed a lot of it, he seemed incapable of dealing with the slightest criticism, IMO if you're gonna coach like he did, you need to grow a little bark on ya....asking players to put up with his style, and refusing to be accountable yourself, is a bad look. At the end of the day, he probably just came around 20 years too late, and couldn't/wouldn't adjust.

I for one liked him. Old school philosophy, how I was raised. More kids these days need that rather than being coddled
