    M9 Bayonets.

I was talking with my grandpa the other day and he was saying he almost ordered an M9 bayonet. I thought "okay that's a pretty cool knife." Problem is he called the outfit that was selling them and they were a Chinese knock off. He's got a birthday coming up so I figured I'd buy him one. Got to looking on the internet and those son of a guns are expensive. Some are $400+. Are these things that rare or what's the story on them? I'd have never dreamed that they'd be that high dollar.

Is there anyone making one of these "not made in China" for a fairly reasonable price? I'm sure if they're surplus knives they're of higher value. I just don't know enough about these knives to know what a good one is and what ain't. I just don't want to mess up and get him a junky one but for the price I've seen some of these going for I could get him something way cooler than a Rambo knife.

Seems like I remember seeing some surplus bayonets in pawn shops and stuff that were dirt cheap. I guess those days are long gone.

I don't know where any are without traveling at least 4 hours away. I haven't seen an Army Surplus store in probably 20 years. I didn't even think that was still a thing.

I might try a pawn shop. There's one about an hour from my house.

That have one in Longview. I’ll check for you the next time I’m in town.

I just got a lessone on the m9. crazy expensive.

The M9 Bayonet, officially known as the M9 Phrobis III, is a multi-purpose knife and bayonet officially adopted in 1986 by the United States. It has a 7-inch (18 cm) blade and is issued with a sheath designed to double as a wire cutter.

I called the Longview store, and they do not have an M9 bayonet.

I carried one in Desert Sheild/Storm. Would love to have one as well. You can find them on ebay.

Thanks for looking for me Burnadell. Seems they're pretty hard to find now days especially surplus ones. And when you do they're high dollar.

I think I'm gonna go with that Ontario Knife Company M9. He said he carried an M7 in Vietnam but I think he just likes the looks of the M9 better. They are pretty cool lookin knives.
