    It's a sad weekend.

Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite is having it's last race. They're closing down. I sure had some good time's there.

For the sake of progress With all the houses going in it was inevitable.

I’ve lived within ear shot of the Devil’s Bowl for 30 years. It won’t be the same without it.

Sucks for sure. Funny how they can build a track out in the middle of nowhere, then build houses and it's suddenly a noise problem. Just counting the days til the last Houston area track closes down.

I had a buddy that ran a modified back in the 70's. He let me put in a few laps at Green Valley.

I didn’t know until recently but do you remember when Evel Knievel did a jump at GVR in 1974?

EVEL LANDS LONG at the bottom of the ramp successfully jumping 11 mack trucks in richland hills Texas.music by Teknoaxe

Green Valley was a drag strip.

There was a dirt track close by. It's been a long time, but you're right. It was not part of Green Valley. My buddy lived about a mile or so from Green Valley. My mistake.
