    Pretty cool sight to see.

Went and sighted in a rifle for my buddy and as we were leaving his parents house I saw something in the shadow of a tree in their backyard. I said "What is that?" I was about to ask if his parents have a cat when it started walking. It was a baby bobcat. It walked over and got a drink out of a deal my buddies dad has set out for the pheasants and quail.

We saw the mother of that bobcat at the beginning of dove season in their yard. I planned on calling it up this Winter but I won't now. I really don't wanna shoot one that's got kittens following her around. The downside is my buddy couldn't figure out why he hasn't seen his blue quail in a while. Mystery solved. I tried to get a picture of that baby one but that sucker was fast. I was trying to be sneaky about it but he either saw my shadow around the corner of the building or heard me.

I'm guessing it's a little male bobcat. It was stocky as heck for its size.

Those things really ain't too scared of people. Makes a person wonder how many critters they have wondering around that they just never see.

I've seen just about every type of baby critter there is but I don't remember ever seeing a baby bobcat. That's a cool sighting.

Honestly that was the smallest one I'd ever seen. I've seen ones that were probably a little bigger than a house cat before but this one was shorter but I'd say he probably weighs about as much as one. He's been eating well. Aside from the quail there was quite a few cottontail rabbits there. Come to think of it I haven't seen those rabbits in months. I bet momma bobcat ambushed 'em.

I don't say this about a ton of animals but that son of a gun was cute as can be. My buddy was hoping he'd get his first bobcat this Winter when we saw that one during dove season. I've seen enough of them I figured by its size it was a female. Made me wonder if she had kittens somewhere. My buddy can shoot a different bobcat. That kitten will be following its mother for a while still. It was still pretty little.
