    Fawn with spots still?

Got this picture this morning 10/15 of a fawn still sporting a very spotted coat. Seems very late in the year to me. Do you see this at this time of the year?

    It happens.
just tells you that your buck to doe ratio might need to be looked at.

Yes we always have fawns with spots in late October and early November. Have a group of 8 now at feeder every day that has two fawns where the spots are gone, 1 with fade spots and one full spots on display. Goes right along with our breeding that has consistently span from early November thru early Jan.

some fawns carry their spots much later than others. I have seen a fawn in Dec/jan that had lots of spots, was really big. Didn't have anything to do with buck/doe ratio or breeding timing.

Have one with its mother that comes to feeder weekly.

Had a fawn born in May this year and another in August. Bucks started chasing as soon as they lost velvet and will see it continue into Early December. Liberty County.

Don’t forget the January rut for the doe fawns that come of weight.

Although very rare, I have had spotted fawns into Nov.

We have spotted fawns that are the size of dogs still, lots of them too.

Hope you don't ever have to clean a fat doe on Thanks Giving weekend, and have a fawn fall out.

Oh yeah, we’ve got several spotted fawns at the lease in Comstock.
