HA! But whatever the case, it's all about the alliteration.

        How about Deer Detectives?

Please, TPWD, tell me how to cheaply and conveniently dig a 3’ hole at my lease when we can’t even drive a T-post.

Or their assumption of $50.00/hr to hire someone to come out and dig a one. Last I checked it was $200.00 just to show up. This whole proposal is a joke. Kinda like our borders are closed. All they have to do is disable the enablers. Punishing the everyday blue collar Hunter is not the answer.

I sent in my comment. Not that I believe for an instant they take into consideration any public comments. I feel that they have already decided what they want to do and are going to do it regardless.

I'm not seeing the problem with the proposed rule. If you process the deer in the location that you kill it, you can leave the carcass there. If you process it yourself at home, you can throw the carcass in your trash that gets picked up by the garbage company (doesn't pretty much everyone already do this when they process at home?). If you take it to a processor they need to throw it in their trash (dumpster) that gets picked up by the garbage company (which I imagine pretty much all of them already do this). I'm not seeing how anyone will really be inconvenienced by this.

It's 2030 and digital licenses are the only license available. You shoot a deer and tag digitally. Green jeans shows up at your house a few days later to confirm. Your dog is gnawing on a deer bone. You're cited for improper disposal

You don't have to if it was the place of harvest. Just leave it there.

I do most of my hunting through the draw hunts. No way they are going to let me come back days later and "return" the carcass to where it was taken. I don't live in an area with city garbage so digging a three foot hole in my lawn is the only "free" option.

and renting an excavator or hiring out a hole dug isn't $50........but it's government and it's not their money but does sound like an easy ticket revenue generator. I guess with the digital tagging they have to find some way to replace the not filling out the back of your license upon kill revenue, which I never even knew about till I read it on TBH.

We should be trying to get adults and kids involved in hunting and fishing, TPWD is doing everything they can to make it difficult and jump through hoops over BS like this. We got a new warden in our county who has spread the word that anyone dove hunting on 100 acres or less and has a deer feeder, will be fined for hunting a baited area. What happened to the old wardens that worked with people and encouraged hunting and fishing. Now it's all about writing tickets.

This is why you shouldn't get a digital license. They have geo-location data when you report the harvest that they can/will use against you.

I quarter out my deer, leave the guts and leftover at the farm for the critters. Guess I can throw it on a burn pile and lite it. Don’t have a backhoe, sure ain’t digging a hole. Once I get home I debone the meat, put the scraps in the freezer til trash day.
