    Texas travel trailer self inspection!

As of September 1st you can self do a self inspection of your travel trailer. No more having to take it to a vehicle inspection station. Any trailer under 7500 lbs. does not need an inspection also.

Oh.. And they still charge you $7.50 inspection fee. I told the lady ( joking ) that they should give it to me since I did the inspection. She was not amused, and sharply told me to "Take it up with the state"

Wow, this is awesome. This would save me a couple days.

I hope this will work on travel trailers that have an expired registration. Have not got it inspected in a couple years because its such a PITA.

          Thanks for sharing.

Made my peace with the tax. Just glad it's easier to pay now

Yes it does! Mine was out by six months. Filled it out, went to the tax office and got the registration. Just had to sign that it had not been moved.

I wish I would have known that would work. I hauled mine in to get it inspected in August.

Is there a length requirement on inspection on a TT?

I have never been asked nor have I taken mine in for inspection. I just renewed tags last week.
