My Mom just took me on a fishing trip of a lifetime. We flew in to Minneapolis Minnesota and rented a car. We drove to Nestor Falls Ontario Canada and stayed for a week all inclusive at the Muskie Bay Resort on Crow Lake. There were 5 of us with my Mother and her twin sister (73yoa) and a friend of theirs, along with me and my cousins husband. We fished multiple lakes that are all part of a 1 million acre lake system. We fished for walleye and crappie on Lake of the Woods. We fished for Northern Pike on Whitefish Lake which is over 17 thousand acres and boasts over 14 thousand islands. We fished Crow Lake which is over 200 feet deep in places and is gin clear. We also fished Cedar Tree Lake which is a portage lake you have to walk to. Between us we caught over 150 walleye (26" was the big one-my biggest was 21"), 50 or so crappie up to 15", 15 or so small mouth (Mom caught a 5 plus pounder), over 100 Northern Pike (My biggest was 34" and I caught 10 over 30") multiple lake perch, and 4 lake trout. The only target fish we failed to catch was a Muskie. Apparently they are a difficult fish to target. The pike and walleye were awesome fried in beer batter, and the trout were some of the best fish I have ever eaten and we had it grilled. The food was off the chain and we were served 3 meals a day. Full breakfast, light lunch, and 5 course meal for supper. The scenery was worth the trip alone. We saw Bald Eagles every day, with the eagles stealing our fish just off the boat from time to time which was really awesome to see. I will try to post some pics. I highly recommend this place.
