    Yanmar tractors

Looking at purchasing a new tractor.

Looking at a YANMAR YM359, a gear driven, 60HP, compact tractor. I know they have been around a long time. Seeing if anybody else has any experience with the them as a company. I know they make great engines and have made tractors for John Deere for along time. They left the market of tractors that had their name and came back into the market not long ago. Just seeing real world experience and any concerns I can think of before I purchase.
Price point is $30,000 with a 2 year/2000 bumper to bumper warranty, also a 10 year/3000 hour drivetrain warranty.

I have a Yanmar engine in my 1983 John Deere, it still runs like a top, don’t have any experience with their newer tractors though.

Not to be a downer but they are 100 percent Chinese made! There is nothing on them that is produced outside of china- but that goes for smaller John Deere tractors also because they are yanmars! Dad gum good tractors though! Tried and true. I can’t get past the paint schemes myself though lol

edit: I had a Major brain fart! Open mouth, insert foot!

That is so weird! When I was looking at them towards the end of last year I found nothing about them being manufactured in Georgia so OP, please forgive me for my ignorance !

Yanmar tractors are designed and assembled in the company's facility in Adairsville, Georgia. They are a Japanese made tractor, which imo is better than any Chinese made tractor.

Dealer network is a huge thing when buying "off" brand tractors. I own a LS tractor and closest dealer in Texas retired and none close to me at all. LS Motron builds tractors for many other brands, Case IH, New Holland, etc......but even with them being the same tractor they will not work on a LS branded one. I ordered starter for mine from Case IH. LS is built in South Korea. IF there was a long standing dealer with great reputation near you I wouldn't be scared of a Yanmar but dealers and parts are one of the biggest things when buying a tractor as is resale value. I bought in hopes that dealer network would grow, which has happened in some parts of U.S. but not here. Same thing happened when Mahindra and Kubota first came to U.S. but their networks after time really grew as did parts network.

The rental place I use when I need to rent equipment has all Yanmars. I've operated a bunch of different brands of equipment and I will say that the Yanmars have the smoothest operating hydraulics of any of them. Every thing I've used of theirs has been top notch and I would not be a bit worried to own one. However, as friscopaint pointed out, it is better to own what dealers and repair is close to you. That is why I have a Kubota.

Son-inn-law worrked the $#!t outta a 30 horse Yanmar for 15 yrs. 'Bout the only thing he had to work on was the hydraulic cylinders and clutch.

thanks and I have one dealer 15 mins from me and another 2 30-45 mins from my house. For now my dealer network is on solid standing.
