    ETX Lease Restriction

As of today we're still not even allowed on our lease due to Timber Company restrictions in worries of fires. Has anyone that had this restriction put on them this season had it lifted already?

I have never had a timber company say we could not go, but I have had them say we cant mow, drive off the main road with ATV or vehicle and things like that, which I have no issue with. However if they said we could not go for an extended period especially just before season I would be quite upset and would have to ask for a patial refund especially if the ban cuts into deer season, considering deer hunting is what the lease allows you to do. What company is this?

My cell cam is keeping me sane & luckily I got all my stuff completed a few weeks before they put the restrictions in place. The week before Labor day is when they told us nobody was allowed on the lease so a lot of guys that wait until Labor Day weekend to do all of their cutting/filling feeders are not too happy.

I can see them allowing people on the lease within the next week or two but I still don't think they'll allow people to mow/bush hog for a while.

Never happened to me but I know some that have dealt with it before. Not uncommon at all. The timber company has to limit access when it’s been this drought because of so many that just can’t use common sense. Hopefully they lift it this coming week for you.

I would probably ask if you could at least visit to fill feeders or such I mean season is two weeks from now. I understand what you mean about folks not working till after labor day. I dont get it myself. I go to my lease all year long and have my spots ready to hunt year round. On another note I had no idea Molpus was even around anymore.

Yes unfortunately the majority has to pay for the stupid decisions a few will make in these cases. I haven’t leased timber company land personally in a while but if isn’t occurring yet when a person mows down some of the pines and the TC will charge them for it. The old days of Temple Industry leasing have gone to the wayside imo. I have never heard of such strict restrictions myself Op but then again I can’t remember so many forest fires specifically to East Tx as this year.

My lease in orange county restricted all access for a few weeks. They're letting us go this weekend to fill feeders and check cameras though.

I have four timber company leases with Crown and all they have told us is no mowing and be careful where you drive or set down a chainsaw or weed eater.

We had 200 acres or more burn last week 1/4 mile from our fence line. I’m not on TC property but I truly understand them being extremely cautious.

That’s what happens when people wait until labor day to start getting their chit done. Anyone that has ever hunted east Texas knew these restrictions were coming with the drought we had.

My lease we are not allowed to mow until the county burn ban is lifted. We can still access the lease though.

I’ve been running my lease since 1989 and these restrictions have never been put on us before
