Work is taking me to the San Marcos area. Looking for restaurant recommendations. Any must-try places?

San Marcos bbq is good. Ivars on the river can be good. The last time we where there the service was slower the usual but food was still good. Bean and brew is good too.

I haven't eaten at the Tap Room since ownership changed but at one time the Hell Burger was my favorite burger. Everything about it was perfection.

Hays County and San Marcos BBQ are good. For SM BBQ go to the old building on Hopkins.

Herbert's is just another tex mex joint...unless you get the best plate in Texas. Cheese enchiladas with chile con carne and onions.

Gil's Broiler has some fantastic classic and greasy burgers. They also have the famous Manske cinnamon rolls.
