    No feeder activity

Is it just me or are you others seeing virtually no feeder activity? My cams are only picking up night pics of hogs. Been trying to hunt creek bottoms where there still seems to be some acorns with little success. BTW I'm in Montgomery County

SW of San Antonio the smaller bucks have taken over the feeders. The hog movement has slowed down a bit though.

      Palo Pinto County

We are in South Central Palo Pinto county about 11 miles west of the lake and most of our guys are not having any feeder activity either. Only about 3 or 4 guys out of 15 are reporting feeder activity. They hit hard all the way up to October then quit.

      Kinda frustrating.

Seems to be happening all over the state. I know I've never seen this much corn piling up under the feeders in all the years I've hunted the Hill Country.

not a hunting feeder, but the one in my backyard (about a mile from your house) has only seen deer at night. haven't seen anything of size since first of Oct. i was home and outside at around 4:30pm a few days back and heard a feeder go off in the woods. maybe 40 yards. that might be part of it.
my house backs up to the woods between our subdivision and that little church on 1488(going east from kroger). still see deer thru-out the subdivision at night. didn't see any of the big guys come thru this year checking doe's. i would have figured that after the acorns got washed away a few weeks back, that the feeder would be hit hard. think i might let it go dry till Feb. or March just feeding squirrels and rabbits.

Our feeders in Graham are getting hit but 98% of the pictures are at night.

Will get a deer here and there during the mid morning and an occational hog, but rest is at night.

We are throwing alot of corn twice a day and it is cleaned up by morning. Thought about changing the feed times but want to wait and see what happens this weekend.

Surely the pattern has to change before the end of the season.

The bucks are all out chasing does on our place and the does are afraid to come to the feeders. If they stand still, sumpin' jumps on them!

                  Sporadic---
Some are getting cleaned up daily & some are not.
Saw several younger bucks out running/laying trap lines last Sat. evening and again on Sun. morning. I think they are getting ready to light it up in Hood and Somervell counties.

At our lease in Lometa we are experiencing the same thing. Corn piling up at the bottom of the feeders. Fewer deer are coming to the feeders while hunting in the morning and evening. I do not remember it being like this last year. I have noticed deer feeding more in the fields that have sprouted fresh grass from rains three or four weeks ago. I am hoping a good frost will take care of that grass and the deer will come back to the feeders.

Opening weekend of gun season I noticed the acorns dropped where I hunt and from then to this last weekend everything slowed down. Im seeing and getting on my trailcam less deer/hogs with some days nothing. Not sure if its cause the acorns dropped or gun season started or both. Might have to start hunting our other property near Freer but its usually loaded with Javi's.

The best hunting right now will be had on scrape and rub lines and trails to and from bedding areas. I don't think the feeders will be all that productive until Dec.

Start hand feeding some spots away from the feeders. See what kind of activity you get.
