    Let’s talk Gloves

I’m looking for a pair of gloves that will keep my fingers somewhat warm while hunting pheasants in Kansas. I keep a pair of leather driver gloves in my game vest but last year was almost too much with the low temperature and freaking wind. Need something that will find the safety quick and finger easily finds the trigger. Some birds got away cause some of the other guys had bulky gloves on and they just couldn’t find the safety quick enough.
    What recommendations y’all got?

I wear two pairs of gloves. Either mittens with the flap to uncover my fingers with thinner shooting gloves underneath or just heavy gloves with the fingers cut out and thin shooting gloves underneath. If it's really cold I'll take hot hands packets and put them between the two layers.

I'd see if you can find the brand of your liking that is pretty well wind proof. That's the worst part of it. It's not the cold that hurts but the wind cuts right through your clothes. If you're huntin in Southwest Kansas just make sure you have some clothes on that, that wind can't get through. My buddies from Texas came up here huntin a few times and underestimated how cold it can get the first time. That wind ain't no joke.

I like Glomits or mittens for when it is very cold. Put a hot hand in each. Kuiu Northstar Glomits are great.

I also like Kuiu's guide gloves for waterfowling as they are waterproof and thin enough that I can still shoot with them on.

In general I don't wear either until it gets really cold. Hate messing with them on/off because no matter what glove you will lose some dexterity.

I used to wear a glommet type on my left hand, and a tight fitting cotton glove with the little gripper dots on the palm, on my right. I kept my right hand in a pocket as much as possible when it got really cold. If not super cold, I'd wear the cotton style on both hands...as snug fitting as you can get.

It is my opinion that a freezing bare hand, is more dangerous operating a shotgun, than a warm gloved hand, as long as the glove isn't bulky.

Wool liners inside regular leather gloves work.

Just ordered a pair of these from Pnuma outlet…I have multiple Pnuma products and attest to high end quality.
