    A Day of Dread

There isn't much in my life that I dread; in fact I can only think of two things. One is today. It was 2 years ago that we received that 2 am phone call that my oldest daughter had passed away. There isn't a minute, hour, or day that goes by I do not think of her or speak of her. I still feel as though I am having a Bad Dream.
Hugs your kids, wife, family and friends and tell them how you feel. You never know what can happen. Life is short, too short. Stop putting things off and LIVE. Take that trip, make that purchase, do whatever it is you have always wanted to do., Tomorrow isn't promised to anyone.
A special THANK YOU to all of the brotherhood that has reached out to me during these trying times. Numerous messages, text and phone call offering a listening ear, a place to go and talk, or just plain old support. THANK YOU.

You are so right, life turns on a dime, and in spite of the lengths we go to to mitigate risk—especially when it comes to keeping our children safe and health—there are some things that are simply out of our control.

What a terrible anniversary for you and your family to have to commemorate.

The new normal is not so pleasant sometimes brother. This dat is August 5th. It’s a day for those of us who have been there that a patr of each and everyone of us died too… BUT rest assured a day is coming for those of us who know Jesus as Lord and Savior that will wipe away those dreads and sorrows forever when we are reunited with our sons and daughters for all eternity! I cling to that promise every day and I hope you do too. In the meanwhile just like you said LIVE LIFE now. The Lord promised us life and life abundantly right here and right now. Let’s all take advantage of that promise and live a life that is pleasing to God as best we can. Ask for forgiveness when we fail HIM, and our reward will be great in Heaven. I pray for comfort today.

My sister passed when she was 4 in a car accident while just going across the street to the store. 20 years later, my mom still blames herself despite not being the driver. Your story hits "close to home" and I think of y'all occasionally despite never meeting. I'll say a prayer of comfort for you and your family.

I came close to losing my oldest three times in the ER battling the effects of chemo treatments for leukemia. He suffered congenital heart failure all three times but survived them all. I know how desperate I felt all three times and how much hurt there was at just the possibility of losing him. I can't image your pain. I will pray for you today and ask God to love you in peace and comfort.
