I've seen some of yall build your own self-bows and I was thinking I might give it a try. Im no expert and I dont plan to master the skill but I want to try it out without spending a ton of money. To answer your question, poorfolksbows.com has been one of the best resources for me. You might want to follow my longbow build in the D-I-Y forum, but it is a more complicated bow than you would want to build the first time. I am about 1/2 done with it, so you can follow as I build it--and probably as I make some mistakes. It will give you some good information though.Comment

I am currently working on my first board bow. It is posed in the Trad section. I used Poorfolkbows for the first half of my bow. I then made it a little nicer by adding a hickory backing, customizing it a little, and following another bowyer's advice.Comment
