    New backstop

Recently moved and the yard had a really heavy piece of rubber mat in it. Knew immediately how to use it.

Original plan was altered mid way when I realized I could achieve what I wanted with fewer materials. Originally I wanted it free standing.

Yard is just big enough for a 21 yard shot. Perfect for me. Don't think I've ever killed past 18 yards. Click image for larger version

If that is stall mat and you are using a 70 pound compound, you might punch a hole in that siding. My 50 pound trad bows will penetrate eight or nine inches.

Not 100% sure if it's stall mat or not. It's not solid rubber has some layers of fibers in it as well.

Nevertheless I used a couple pieces of scrap and made some outriggers to where I now hit fence should a shot get through. Appreciate the feedback!

I have two pieces of rubber conveyor belting behind my 4x3' layered carpet target. When I have shot one into the belting, at 58 lbs, it penetrated barely an inch.

Here’s a glance at the internals of the mat. I think it’ll do the job of not letting an errant arrow leave the yard.
