I fully agree that tags should be allotted by the amount of private vs public (federal) land that makes up a hunt unit

Just about all the western states do that, and a lot of others too. Try to get a deer tag in Iowa lately ? You can hardly blame them. If we had much more than deer to hunt here we’d be discriminatory too.

I'm going bear hunting in NM with hounds next month. I sent the email to them yesterday.

I made a comment supporting legal regulated hunting in all its forms and being open to a program/study where people would put condoms on male bears and cougars in an attempt to manage numbers. I added of course that said study would only be acceptable if it was privately funded. I asked that they let us know when it starts so we could bring our beer and watch.
