Need some ideas on this deer feeder.

So I want to put this kind of feeder in Kansas but I want some kind on mechanism that will stop the corn coming out so the racoons don't wipe me out over night. I was thinking a heavy duty clock motor with a round piece of metal or something for where the clock arms go. I guess worst case is I buy a regular feeder. You guys have any ideas?

Is that plastic. Squirrels will eat holes in it. Been there.

Check the foreverlast website for the outpost feeder, light and portable.

So I went with a 30 gallon drum and made this, should be high enough from the coons unless they drop down from the top. I may add a bed of nails on top.

That's a good idea. Those coons can reach higher than you think they can. I'd dig out under the pot, adds height and still keeps it accessible for the deer

wish i had a pic of my kansas feeders. i made a frame that a metal barrel sets on but the the frame leaves no place for a coo to sit. i come up an inch or so above the bottom of the barrel and make a 3 to 4 inch horizontal cut along that edge. on each side of that cut i make a vertical cut 3 inches or so. this forms a tab you can bend in. deer can nibble corn and some falls on the ground but coons cant just sit there and pig out. i also add metal strapping across the "tab" with self tappers on the ends and middle to also help regulate the corn flow. My deer will go thru 400 lbs in 12 days . i'll try to get pics next time im up there
