    First Aid Kits

I am looking for suggestions and what type of First Aid kits everyone keeps at their deer lease, in their UTV’s or hunting rigs? If you keep anything special, why? New lease is a long way from any doctor or hospital and the older I get the more I think about this stuff.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated

Buy generic Afrin nasal spray…it’s a vasoconstrictor and is a cheap way to stop bleeding and can help wash out a wound
Kept some my pocket at every Cub and Boy Scout camp out since most kids get a small cut or scrape

Good list. I would add gauze to it.

Vet wrap (Buy at tractor supply in the horse section)

          Tweezers/needle/magnifying glass (for thorns/splinters)

snake bite kit (the yellow one, works good with insect stings too)

            Tourniquet
            epinephrine pen(injectable epi)
            benadryl
            bleed stop gauze
            tape
            scissors
            betadine
            steri strips
            tweezers
            pain meds
i also carry local anesthetic and sutures in mine.
I am not worried about minor scrapes or cuts. If you truly need to save someone’s life you need to be prepared for an arterial bleed or a severe allergic reaction. CPR training is important as well.

I’ve been a paramedic for over 20 years…I carry a couple of CAT tourniquets and quick clot gauze in my buggy and in my hunting bag. Everything else is back at camp. I have a pretty extensive kit in my trailer for camp stuff. Just remember, carry what will keep you from dying quickly and keep it readily accessible.

I keep a generic first aid kit in all my vehicles. I pick them up from from harbor freight when they go on sale. They're just to cheap to not have.

I had First Aid Kits in my Truck, RV, UTV and my Stands. Build your own IMHO. I purchased several of these and made them MY OWN to the items that I though would be practical.... MILITARY FIRST AID BOX, GENERAL PURPOSE, SIZE A, 6545-00-922-1200

There was a recent thread about this and someone responded with mymedic. https://mymedic.com/

I bought 2 from there. They are a bit packed, but have everything for any hunting related injury.

Do you spray it on the wound? Pour it on?

Interesting idea but I'm not sure I can picture it.

If it’s for a hunting camp you need to make sure you’ve got cats, z fold gauze, compression bandages and a pair of chest seals. A lot can be done to buy time in a worst case situation. The rest can usually be addressed by a decent generic first aid kit.

Any application will work fine but certainly spray it to clean out any debris

Related, but not, my new tundra came with a first aid kit in the center console

I have a standard first aid kit at camp, and one under the seat of my truck, but I keep an IFAK kit on the outside of my back back.
it’s got the chest seal, tourniquet, gauze, bandage wrap, tape, scissors, space blanket, gloves. Basically to buy time for serious injury. Anything else can wait a little and be treated at truck or camp.
