The buck behind him looks a little wider, but maybe younger.

If still unsure of your sizing skills, you can put something to reference on your feeder. Like a 13" cut piece of closet rod or something.

I would not risk it as he could either way. Too close to call.

Not sure if he's 12.25 or 12.5", but I'd be expecting a ticket if I punched his ticket. Couple years and he should be good to go.

I’m pretty good on sizing them up. I put him at 13, MAYBE 13.5” which is too close to call on the hoof. I’m also one that wants that guy to get a free pass for the next couple years to see what he becomes. So to be clear, I wouldn’t shoot him even if he was confirmed over 13”. His buddy in the background… maybe if it was later in the season and I needed to punch my buck tag and get meat in the freezer.
