    Needing Hay - Alvin Area

Figured this was as good a place as any .... Does anyone have any hay they'd be willing to part with or know of someone who does? Round bales. Needing 12-16 ideally in the Alvin area. I know it's a bit dry so willing to buy as few as you'd part with.

    Thanks

Bump for you. You are smart to start looking now.
Up here where I live the farmers that get two cuttings are lucky so far is what I am hearing. You don’t see many cattle in the pastures either, they are obviously selling them off due to lack of grass. It’s going to be a long winter if things don’t start improving soon with rain.

Starting to stock up on square bales myself. Personally, I think it would be easier and cheaper to get rid of the two horses that are just pasture ornaments anyway, but that is not the way my wife rolls. Found some in Alto that is not too bad of a price, except for the quantity you have to buy at one time.

Ok. I'll check and see if the ranch I part time at wants to sell any. They have quite a bit. Will let you know..

I bet hay is going to get extreemly high this year with as dry as its been. Heck, even the grass over my septic is brown.

Yup, my 1st cuttin was about 50% less than most years.....not sure if I'll get a 2nd cut. It's dry AF!

Call Daryl. He is in Danbury.

I'd be afraid if you cut it now, it will burn it all up. Even the guys that irrigate are having a hard time keeping up.

I should have had three cuttings already but have had only one. Already started selling cows.
