Im thinking it will be a good year to hunt around a tank - if you can find one that still has water

I wouldn't believe any tpwd counts either. They are just out to sell licenses.

Water will be the key for sure if we don't get any rain. Encinal area was loaded with doves a couple weeks ago.

I trust NOTHING TPWD puts out!!
From our own observation on our place down South, there is no shortage of doves (mourning). They're so bad, we have our timed feeders going off after dark and before daylight, otherwise the deer don't stand a chance to get to the feed because of the doves (and sometimes the whistling ducks!).

          Did somebody say doves??

Seeing lots of birds around Celina right now. They're harvesting corn right now so I'm sure that helps.

I've missed open day of dove season for the past three years. I'm not going to let that happen again.I'm hoping it will be a good one.

Man I'm hoping we have good numbers in Fisher County this year because we haven't had any since the big freeze

I’ll be in Alice for White Wings at the end of this month. Looking forward to it. Thanks for the report Jerp.

Queue Smart's photo of the dub with the umbrella and suitcase!

I've seen more birds around in general this year than the last couple, just depends where the food/water concentrate them.

Mine too!! The opener last year evening hunt was over in 25 minutes!! Unfortunately I’ll be on the sideline this year for dove season. Eye surgery late August then again late September.

Sightings for me are non existent weekdays, till after 3PM. Then it's to hot to be out. And non existent weekends after 11AM, when I go inside to get out of the heat.
