    what .223 ammo for pigs

Just finished putting together my first ar-15 .223. Now I wanna go kill pigs with it. What ammo would you recommend for the job?

Fairly cheap for a lot of shooting I have good luck with Rem Core Lokt.

What twist rate is the barrel? I would use some type of FMJ and head shoot em and adjust bullet wieght for twist rate. If you are just going to ear hole em check Palmetto Armory they ussually have decent deals on pmc and other stuff.

Anything with a 60 gr. Nosler Partition in it-handload or factory. That bullet don't come apart no matter how big the hog is.

60gr. Partitions from Federal work best for me. Have tried ballistic tips and some of the Hornady V-Max's but they dont leave very good blood trails.

This guy ran 20 yards and piled up. Was pushing 200 pounds.

Well, I actually misspelled it. It is medulla, as in medulla oblongata. The lower half of the brain stem. If you hit them there, they are DRT. This hog was shot with a .22 mag at a distance of about 150 yards. Dropped on the spot, dead right there.
