I hunted all season without getting any good opportunities to let an arrow fly. I was hunting up in Jarrell (North of Austin) when 4 does and a 8 point came to my feeder. The 8 point was a nice deer, but too young for me to shoot. Plus, I still haven't found a recipe to make the horns taste very good. I shot this doe and watched her lay down after running about 50 yards. I was so pumped up that I took my release off my wrist and started texting my buddies. I glanced over my left shoulder and there was another doe standing broadside at 25 yards, still wondering what had happened moments before. I needed meat, so I managed to get another arrow in the bow and my release back on. I hit her and she ran about 60 yards. Two deer with a bow on the same hunt was not a bad way to start my bow hunting career.
P.S. I was using Slick Trick broadheads.
