    Straight busted.

So went stalkin for hogs today at lake somerville. Heard movement and stopped. Biggest boar ive ever laid eyes on came strolling through a bunch of brush. Saw him and went to squat to hopefully get a shot off under the canopys of brush. He busted me. Completely sucks. Wouldve been first kill with bow and First kill on a stalk. Thats okay. My fire has just turned from flame to full afterburner. Its so on. Addictions are a b i t c h.

Sounds alot like my first time after hogs on corps property! Had him at 17 yards and the wind swirled and he was out!

Happened to me too several months ago. It was me and two of my hunting buddies. We were spot and stalking pigs on my buddy's grandfather's cattle ranch. Lots of woods surrounding the large open field. He's been killing pigs like this for years. Anyway, I think it was my second time to go out there with them. I witnessed both of these guys pop a pig that day. Then it was my turn... Basically, you listen and look really hard as you ease through the woods. You can usually hear them before you see them. We heard a couple of them about 30 yards away. It was all me this time as my buddies stayed back and let me have a crack at them. I closed up on them very slowly doing the crouching tiger to about 18 yards of so as they were busy rutting up some bugs in the ground. I very slowly stood up from behind a shrub brush. And then 'bam', they looked my way and stared at me for what seemed like 5 minutes... I never moved a muscle and all of a sudden they darted off in a big hurry. If I could do it all over again, I would have drawn my bow before I stood up, but oh well, we live and learn. But what a rush!! We made a few more evening hunts later in the next couple of weeks, but all we killed were a few beers back at the truck. I'm gonna be hooking up with my buds again soon to seal the deal on a few piggies. It's the most fun I've ever had with my bow. Way better than hunting from a stand or blind.

Jason your not kidding bro. I will never hunt in a blind again and itll be hard to have fun anymore using a rifle. Bow hunting is so much more personal.
