    Shooting Bench Seat Height

I've built a shooting bench and I'm down to the seat height. Will be sighting in rifles on a Lead Sled, and crossbows. For the average height person (no jokes! ) what height should the seat be from the shooting deck to the top of the seat? Will be using 1/2" through bolts into the 4x4 legs so might make it adjustable.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!

Get a drummer's thrown Les...that way you can adjust for various shooters.

Use a 5 gallon bucket and adjust with boards until it feels just right and that will be the height you need. Most seats for most things are 17".

Took that right away from me, didn't ya? Well, I'd say, you and I are average height folks. It's everbody else that's a giant.

So, 15-16" for us average fellers.

The range where I shoot has adjustable height stools made from some round bar and 3/4” allthread. Works great. One size fits all.
