SxS Crew cab Vs Single Cab

Ok, I have a Crew Cab Ranger, it takes up most my 16ft trailer and takes a 5 point turnaround in trails the to my stands to fill feeders. Has anyone left their crews behind for a Single Cab and if so, Do you regret it?

I went from a single cab to a crew with my Can Ams. I also kept my single cab for a couple years after buying the crew thinking I’d still use it some. It was way more fun to drive, and a ton easier to get around in. However it got loaded up on the trailer exactly 0 times in the 2 years I owned both.

I have a 2023 Ranger Crew 1000 and it turns near as easy as a 4 wheeler because it has power steering.

Does yours have PS? If not, can it be added? That could very well be a cheaper option than swapping off and still give the versatility of two row seating.

I got rid of my crew and got the single seater. I had to drive to the other side of the property to turn it around, that was before power steering and turning that beast around was no fun.

I just went from a 2016 single cab to a 2023 1000 Crew XP and it turns as good if not better than the single cab. I believe Polaris improved the steering and several other areas in 21,22 & 23. I do not think I could ever go back to a single cab. This is my fourth Ranger and by far my favorite.

I never had a crew, knew I didn’t want one just like I know I don’t want a long bed truck. My single seater Defender handles like a dream.

You'll find more often than not that you wish you had the crew room.

No Sir. No power steering but currently hunting n East Texas and my trails are tight. Plus I have the Ranger 570-6 seater.

My father has an older (2015-2016) 570 with power steering and it turns perfectly fine. My wife and I bought the 2023 for them to use because that 570 has a lot of wear on it and they could stand to have another in case theirs breaks down.

See if you can have PS added to it. As long as the machine is otherwise working well, it can save some money and would be well worth the upgrade.

I have both large and small mules. I drive the small one every day around the ranch.
the larger one I drive only when I am pulling a trailer or have company

small one was cheaper and is better for working in the brush.
                    Never regretted having two.

I've got a crew and have tossed around the idea of a trade for a single but just cant make myself do it. I've got 5 kids, and although the 7 of us are rarely on it together, it's not uncommon for 4 of us to be on it. My issue is not only turning around, but turning in general. We have some land we plan on building on in the next year or two and about half of it is wooded. Before I get moved out there I will have to add power steering. My first trip through the woods will have to be with a chainsaw to cut the trees on tighter turns. I've currently never had it on the property because my dad lives on the neighboring property, so i just steal his buggy (single cab) when I'm out there, but there will have to be some significant trail maintenance just to get my buggy down the trails that we drive almost daily with a single cab.

The old Polaris crews have the worse turning radius in the business. Literally any thing will be better.

One of the big reasons I went with the Mule Pro FXT. You get the option of 2nd row seating when needed but on a shorter wheel base.

Single seaters are fine as long as you never have more than 3 people to take somewhere. I hauled hunters so the crew was my only option. Polaris anything turns like an 18 wheeler so no mater single or crew. you need plenty of room.

Went from a crew ranger to single ranger and couldn’t be happier. I don’t haul a bunch of people so I got rid of the crew for the exact same reason why you are inquiring. I hunt E TX as well. I can haul 3 adults on my full size single. Plus I like how the awd works much better in a shorter profile. It’s also nice not needing a long trailer to haul it.
