Hot Springs, AR - Things To Do (Lodging, Restaurants, Sigts to See)

I tried the search function for this new TBH site, but did not have any success. I am planning a suprise trip to Hot Springs, AR next month with my wife. She is typically the one who researches lodging, restaurants, and things to see and do. I am beginning to research the above items, and feel a little out of my wheel house. If anyone in the TBH braintrust is familiar with Hot Springs and has any suggestions regarding the above items, your recommendations would certainly be appreciated. Also, I will be driving from Houston to Hot Springs, and am wondering if there is some amazing/out of this world restaurant I should stop at for lunch/dinner along the way.

Worst experience ever. Lol. There is no actual hot tubs with hot water. Just a pipe to fill jugs at. There are some old bath houses I think you can take a bath in.

We stayed a night in Hot Springs last November on our way to Nashville and stayed at Oak Lawn Casino. We ate dinner there, so I am hoping someone else can give you restaurant ideas, cause I wouldn't do that again. The Casino is very small, but it was in the middle of the week and wasn't too busy.

Probably the best part was we got a room that over looked the race track, pretty close to the track in the middle of a turn. Was a great view, watching the horses get their legs stretched and having a coffee was pretty cool.

I don't have any more info on the location, sorry.

We ate at the Fisherman's warf restaurant...it was good and I would go back. Kinda of an artsy town....Could go up in the observation tower if it's clear out...

How fancy do you want lodging and meals? I grew up in Hot Springs and we visit my parents still there a few times a year, and ignore BoB.

Have a few drinks and a ruben at the Ohio Club and get the walleye dinner from the Red Oak Filling Station. McClards BBQ is different and Rods pizza cellar is good. They have a grateful head pizza there now too.

The Casino is fun to stay. If you want something more private look at rent a house boat on lake Ouachita. its about 30 minutes from the town of Hot Springs, or rent a house in Hot Springs Village. You can find a house on one of the ten or so lakes inside the village. They also have a bunch of golf courses inside the village.

They have the couples bath house experience with the works there if you want to get some points with your partner/spouse. We have stayed in different bed and breakfasts and houses on the lake. Beautiful scenery around in the fall also when the leaves are changing.

Sure have. Even rode the h-ell out of those duck boats. Beautiful area. Was hoping to see the boggy creek monster while in Arkansas Just didn't pan out

Would love to retire to middle or upper Arkansas. But, too much family in La. and Tx..

If Granny's restaurant is still in business go eat breakfast there. Biggest pancakes I've ever seen. It's been 25 years since I've been there so I'm not sure if it's still there.
