How Long will the Smell Last?

Something has died in the in-laws place and the strongest odor is coming from under the kitchen sink. It’s a double wide and I have been under the house. Didn’t find anything there but when I was under the sink area, I could smell it but not near as strong as the inside. I pulled everything thing out from under the kitchen sink and lifted up the bottom baseboard. Nothing there. Looked behind the dishwasher. Nothing. Thinking it might be behind the wall somewhere. So since I can’t find the source, how long will it take before the odor is gone. I’m thinking it may be a mouse.

rodents in a wall will take a few days to dissipate. We've had a few in the ceilings here at work. Same thing.

I’m thinking it’s in the wall. Really can’t smell it just walking thru the kitchen. But stand over the sink and it’s pretty rank. Open the cabinet under the sink and it’s even worse.

My wife swears by the idea of leaving a bowl (or multiple) of baking soda around the area that smells. Supposed to absorb the smell somehow.

Like he said ^^, throw a ozonator under there, and close it up.
Neighbors put a full grown chow in grandmas cellar, and locked the door.
When we found it, fido had gone liquid, and the smell was unbelievable.
24hrs of concentrated ozone, and we burned the everything but the memory out.

A couple of weeks I think. I always tried a bag of open charcoal.
( might make the burgers taste bad though )

Had a kitten die between the walls in the break room at one place I worked. Lasted about 4 weeks before they tore into the wall and removed it.

Open a bottle of pure vanilla extract and set it under sink. Worked great on my freezer when the power was out for a week and all the meat and fish rotted.

Is there a window above the sink? Is that drain line vented through the roof or a air admittance valve?

My gosh what kind of POS would do something like that? I am not sure I am allowed to say whomever did that what they really need done to them.

Well, I don’t have a ozonic so that’s out of the question. Didn’t seem to bad today so maybe it was a real small mouse. Might try some boxes of baking soda. Right now, some squirts of Fe breeze and Lysol seem to help.
