    Concan Frio question

So based upon searching previous threads the flow is pretty low. Read on the fabulous interweb that ideal tubing was between 25-150 CFS. And it shows current flow at Concan is 28.8 CFS and dropping.

With that all, my in-laws are getting a VRBO the weekend of 6/15. Some people have asked about tubing..... But from what I am reading it sounds like it would be best to just sit in the river?

    Any thoughts from the professionals?

Yup, unless they get some serious rain quick your only option is to find a deep hole.

I floated two weeks ago and it was horrible. Lots of walking. Get an EZ-up or two with some comfy chairs and a full cooler.

Get up stream of 7 bluffs if you can.

We were just there this past weekend. There are holes that are great for just sitting and chilling. On Sat, we did about a 4 mile kayak float. We started upstream from, and exited at 7 Bluff (we were staying at 7 Bluff). There was about 6-8 places where we had to get out and walk the yaks over the rocks in the shallow spots. It would have definitely been better with a little more flow, but it was still a fun time. The other 3 days we just sat in chairs in the water and BS’ed.

My recommendation is to get further up river from Concan, much further. I'd try to get around Leaky. There are a ton of rentals and the crowds are much more family oriented and much less people. The water conditions are much better than Concan (clarity, flow, pollution, trash, etc....) Unfortunately, The Frio is quickly becoming what the Guadalupe became.
