Another first in taxidermy for me. Peacock

Friends wife has been asking me for a peacock for a few years. I finally found one and finished it this morning. The train is removable for ease of transport. He presented several challenges for sure.

I’m most definitely not a bird guy. Not enough patience to work on all that. Good job!

We have a neighbor with one that you can hear from a quarter of a mile away. My kids love it when I talk back to the bird, immediate neighbors, not so much lol

That's nice. I wish any Taxidermist could do an average job on a bobcat, but then again, we wouldn't get to see those " Tell me how my Bobcat looks" threads that we all love.

Very nice looking. I didn't realize the spurs they had on them.

I tried to mount a flying Turkey one time. Even after the wire wheel threw grease on every square inch of everything there was still grease in the hide. I washed and washed, mounted it up, worked on it a couple nights in a row and then realized whatever I did to that poor bird should have been illegal! It was a greasy mess. Decided right then I was done with birds. Are the peafowl greasy like Turkey? My mom has a whole flock of the things and I told her there was no way I was going to mess with one.

Great looking job. As a bird guy I understand what it took you to get it there! The train and tail feathers are a bi****!!!

Compared to my share of turkey mounts I would say they are not as bad to clean and they are smaller.

As far as the tail feathered, I didn’t use the tail since you couldn’t see it under the train. As stated I made the train removable modifying the body and attaching the train to the mating part.
