speer gold dot...its what we all carry at work....most of your mainline domestic companies are fine...winchester,remington, etc. if you were close i would just give you a box ive got alot.
PDX1 is available at most stores it is very similar to Black Talons / Ranger. its what I carry in my 40.
The new Winchester Supreme Elite Bonded PDX1, which was chosen by the FBI as their primary service round, is now available in a full line of popular handgun calibers. The Bonded PDX1 is engineered to maximize terminal ballistics, as defined by the demanding FBI test protocol, which simulates real-world threats. The new Winchester Bonded PDX is offered in 9mm, 40 Smith & Wesson, 45 automatic and .38 special.
Anything with controlled expansion, lots of good choices out there. You want something that is going to punch'em (hydrostatic shock), expand and do the most damage.
I use CORBONs....
Back in the day we did some testing with phone books soaked in water, ran a BUNCH of rounds through them and all the expandable stuff did real well. The Talons, Hydrashocks and Corbons did the best. I believe that the golden sabre took the place of the Talons, which were nasty little rounds. The 10mm stuff that we tested had too much penetration... good for someone behind a door/wall but may be bad for the bus load of kids or Grandma Groceries behind the person you are shooting.
Good shot placement coupled with something that will expand is just right IMO
