I bought a $400 weedeater in 2007 and it is still going strong.
I bought a $4,000 mower in 2009 and it is still going strong.
I bought a $300 blower about the same time and it is still going strong.

I had the luxury of knowing that if I spent the money up front my equipment had a reputation of lasting decades with routine maintenance.

I understand the convenience that comes with electric equipment, I just can't bring myself to get rid of reliable gas engines in exchange for batteries that go bad and electric motors that I cannot repair.

Maybe one day, but no time soon.

I have a Toro electric that I bought on 50% off sale at home depot. Only gripe I have ( and kinda a big one) battery life isnt great. only have one 5a hr battery and Im on half an acre soooo only get about 1/3 my yard done on a charge. but no oil or gas to deal with and push button start is nice plus its super quiet and folds for storage. I just need to bite the bullet and buy a couple more batteries.

yeah, I went Ego a couple of years ago. the battery life on the trimmers are finally failing after 3-4 years.
The mower has lights so you can mow in the dark without the noise

Wonder what three acres would take for a riding lawnmower?

Saw a tv ad the other day for a zero turn battery powered mower. Think it was a cub cadet.

I bought a Stihl electric chain saw 2 years ago. Funny thing. I haven't fouled a plug, cleaned a carb, or changed an air or fuel filter since. It lives in the truck tool box when it's not riding the bed of the side by side. I keep the roads clear on the lease and the jungle beat back around the house.

I have been impressed with my two Green Works chain saws, they really do punch above their weights. I have both a pole saw and a regular chain saw and the batteries are interchangeable. That makes it nice, when one dies the other is ready and I can charge the dead one in my truck while the other is working. If you keep the chains sharp they will cut more than I can stand !

The size of my yard precludes the use of an electric mower though, I still need my Hustler for that. Electric blower is great, and when my Stihl trimmer dies its replacement will be electric.

First of all I was disturbed to find out that Honda (who makes the best one out there) is exiting the lawn mower business for reasons that I can't seem to track down. I thought I'd take a chance on an electric one and I was totally skeptical. Have about 4500 sq ft of grass and knew I would be really hacked if I ran out of battery in the middle of a mow. So I ordered one from EGO with two batteries for safety and self propelled. Turns out, to mow that 4500 sq feet only drains the battery down by about 25%. I was shocked to see the battery life so I sure didn't need to spend the money on one with 2 batteries. It cuts every bit as good as my Honda plus it weights about 60% of a gas guzzler. Push button start makes it super easy to use and a bonus surprise is that the mower doesn't need to be on for the self propelled feature to kick in, So when you're through, it silently drives back to the shed with no blades turning. So far I'm super pleased. Has anyone else out there found them to be very good or is there some downside I'm not seeing?
What is the warranty process on EGO mowers? Do you ship it somewhere or they send replacement parts?

I read where by 2028 Home Depot will no longer carry gas powered yard equipment.

The Dewalt mower I was not impressed with. I have a Dewalt battery pole saw and blower which I love. I had a Dewalt weed eater as well but it finally quit on me and couldn’t get it repaired. Didn’t like the new Dewalt model weed eater so went back to gas weed eater and bought a Stihl
