    PSE Bruin, a little help

A friend of mine got his son a PSE Bruin for Christmas and I'm going to set it up for him.

I don't see anything on the PSE website about this bow. It appears to be a youth type bow and has 60# on the label. I put it on the scale and it pulls 44#! How much room is there for draw weight adjustment on this bow?

It is also a dual cam and there is a brass "plate" with a set screw and labeled H, M, L. Can I correctly assume that this is for let off?

And one last question, is the draw length changed by changing the modules? This is a 28" DL and I would be very surprised if this youngster is a 28" draw.

    Thanks for any help/advise.

Sorry I can't help, Bill. If was a Diamond or Parker, I might could help. H, M, L sounds like let-off.

        Good Luck

That's not it Ronnie but thanks for the link. I did a little more investigating and found this model of Nova uses the same cams and has a 20# range on draw weight. I suspect that the Bruin is a Nova for a different market. I'll bet X-spot is still in Oklahoma since I haven't seen him post lately.

              The cam is here. http://pse-archery.com/prod.php?k=60753&u=0811SU#

I'm wrong about the Bruin/Nova being the same. This bow is 34.5" ata and 6 3/4" BH but the cams are still the same.

                        Bill,
That cam is adjustable through 26-28 with the modules turned one way and then 29-31 with them flipped over. The let-off is not adjustable adjustable as I remember. I believe the extra holes will be used to make the additional draw lengths.

As far as the weight goes: if the sticker on the limb says 60#s. That means it is a 40-60# rating.

It has been a while since working the PSE truck and dealing with this cam, so look it over and see if this makes sense.

Thank you very much Jamey. It does make sense. This cam is not exactly like the one shown on the Nova as it only has one adjustment side (brass "plate") on it instead of the double shown on the PSE website. Here's a picture.

I would guess that each slot would shorten or lengthen one inch.

If that hole is 28", then one down = 27?

Ive been bow hunting for only three years now and this is the bow I use. Ive got my dl at 28 inches and its set at 64 # on the scale. Its a good bow but Im ready for the next step like a diamond black ice.
