AR barrel nut question

Got me a yhm diamond FF handguard from Santa and the barrel nut as pictured has a gap in between the sets of threads. Does it matter which side goes towards the muzzle and which end goes towards the breach?

Thanks. Just looked at it again. Only one side has internal threads. Duh, shoulda checked that first. Good thing I ain't tryin to work on right now
