    2012 Polaris Ranger 800 Problems

I was going to let the Polaris owners know of a potential unfixable problem with the 2012 Rangers. I picked up a super crew 800 on Oct 30 and brought the bike to Kansas and South Texas. From day one, the bike ran rough and got to where it wouldn't start if hot and when it did would run rough. I brought the bike back to Cowboy Polaris in Beaumont where I purchased it from and explained the problem and dropped it off. I was informed that the fuel in the fuel rail is vaporizing and maintaing a vapor instead of a liquid form and that a computer flash would fix the problem. Fast forward to today, I just got a call from the Service Mgr. and he advised they reflashed the computer and it still didn't fix the problem. He also stated alot of other dealers where having the same issues with the 800's and only 50% were being fixed by the computer update. Unfortunately mine was one that the update wasn't fixing. He said for now there was nothing else that could be done. So I explained to him that that was unacceptable and they need to figure something out. He stated that Polaris will probably have a recall once they figure out the issue and I would have to wait. NOT! I just got off the phone with my salesman and explained the issue and that they needed to fix the problem or give me another bike! I'm waiting for him to talk to the Sales Mgr and Service Mgr to find out the solution Needless to say, I'm not happy and if you just purchased one, get ready if you have the same issues.

Dealers can't and won't do that...after reg the Vin in your name there not going to take the hit on redoing the paperwork and having a broken used ranger...they feel it's your fight between you and Polaris not them. They have done all they can...had the same issue with a yamaha Jet ski year or two back

Insulate the fuel rail with heat wrap foil....then as the old guys way back in the day, clip a cloths pin int the flexable hose leading to the fuel rail. If the fuel is vaporizing..it's way to hot....a fan or maybe a cool can?

I think it is a sign that maybe you should be taking some old tournament buddies to hunt with you in south TX and Kansas.
Specifically ones that sell real estate at the lake.

                  LOL Shane,
It's tough making those trecks to the Mid-west. I normally stay gone for a long time and hunt my tail off. You need to make a trip though.

Man that stinks. Cowboy in Beaumont is a great dealership. I bought my Honda Big Red from them, well the Honda side. I have a feeling if it can be done they will do it. Good luck...
