    Frustrating

Man...another frustrating morning. I was out of the stand by 8:15. I thought it was gonna be a good morning. It rained on and off all night, then quit about 5:45. Not much wind when I left the house. I saw one deer in the headlights on the way to hunt,. that was it. The wind started blowing about 7:00 or so and blew so hard it was tearing my camo netting. Oh well at least i'm getting warm now and the Buck Medley thread should start making me laugh. Thanks for letting me vent.

Welcome to my last week. I have had a terrible deer season as far as seeing deer. I have moved stand locations, hunted feeders, hunted hand corn, hunted trails, hunted water, etc. I am heading up to Cisco in a few minutes to at least look at some different land while hunting. If the ERS is not happening, I think Ben and I are going to run to Snyder to check that out.

I almost titled the thread "I'm with you Heath".Knowing the area like you do you understand it's not normally like this. I'm really confused this year.

i went this morning and seen 6 driving back to my stand in the dark. seen a doe and a buck , small one. i was getting ready to get out at 9am and about 15 came out on a wheat field about 600 yards a way. 5 bucks int he group and only one that was decent and he was the first to go back int he woods. when i left at ten there were still a doe and a fawn on the field and two small bucks just inside the woodline.by the way on our place the deer tend to congregate on the south side of a large lot of woods when the big northerns roll through. im sure most know this but just a small tip

Yeah...I'm sure it will be Mike. I was just frustrated this morning...I'm just used to seeing a few deer now and then and you know what I've been seeing. It's just hard to figure my deer out this year. Thanks for the pep talk...we all need one now and then

                        Dr.,
I didn't think you were serious all those times you said there were no deer in Bosque county.

Ditto that......25+ hunts EACH for two guys since Sept 29th (all with bows) and nothing but a few pigs and a couple of jakeleg deer seen on stand. I've never seen deer (including all does and fawns) so nocturnal oriented in my life for an entire season.

First it was because of the heat, then it was the full moon, then it was too much food, then it was wait til the rut, then it was the full moon again, then it was the heat again, then it was cold but not cold enough....yada, to yada, to freakin' yada....the fat lady is warmin' up her voice

If not for the wonderful world of trail cameras on trails and feeders at night, I would think that the place was void of life. We've got three mature deer between 5 stands on 3800 acres that give us some hope and we're at the 2 minute warning with no timeouts. I'd have thrown in the towel for the season long ago and started chasing ducks if not for the TCs. Lawd help them if they show their heads in the daytime.

Frustrating doesn't even begin to describe it in case you didn't notice Doc...and you can't say we have tried....
