Is anyone going to watch the premier of “Ragin’ Cajuns” tonight on The Discovery Channel?

It is about Shrimpers from the town of Venice La. trying to preserve their way of living, after the 2010 BP oil spill.

It starts at 9 tonight….

What are the predictions,,,,,, good show or bad?…

I'll bet it goes the way of all the other reality shows from La. Good people on the show, good intentions but editing/inorganic drama that makes it almost impossible to watch.

I agree with SmTx, these shows are getting old. I have never met anyone from S La that I did not like and instantly get along with. These shows make them out to be something they are not and probably edited for the dramatic effect

What is up with all the Cajun shows lately?

Seems like everybody is trying to grab a piece of the Swamp People success. Hell I saw a a Cajun Pawn Stars advertisement the other day and the stars didn't sound very Cajun to me.

I guess this show is going to compete with Big Shrimpin' from Bayou La Batre, Alabama?

I tend to watch all of them though...not much else on.

I have to agree Chew.....They have gone to the Cajun well one too many times I believe...


This show reminds me of the other fishing shows Swords, & Lobstermen....


That Big 400 lb. fella that got his boat stuck was pretty funny though.......

And I am with Smart...Cajun Pawn Stars?.....I'm thinking.....WHY?

Pretty sure I saw one of the boats that was being filmed. I was doing a site visit down in East Black Bay (I think) Near Pointe A La Hatch Louisiana and on my way back in we passed a small shrimp boat with a film crew on board.
I think that was around October or early November.

All these reality shows just make me more convinced that the US gene pool has gotten way too shallow.
We need some cataclysmic event to wipe the slate clean and start over.
