AT&T cell phone Data Speeds WOW!

They claim 1.55 Mb/s. Trouble is, a lot of services that are available to home neighborhoods are not available to our business address in Mesquite. Or at least not as far as I'm aware of.

Have you checked with the local cable company? We have Suddenlink out here and even they have over 10 Mbps actual download speed. Surely someone in Mesquite can beat 10 Mbps.

Called Time Warner and they were supposed to check on availability but haven't called me back.

He complained that AT&T slowed his connection because he used too much data, which they do! That is crazy fast though for wireless.

I heard that in china that they have a lot more "g"s than we do and there wireless is way faster like 30 and 50 mpbs.

Here's my AT&T service blowing you out of the water.

The top two are my cell service on 3G the bottom is my AT&T dsl. Both are from my house in Waxahachie. No we are not in the sticks. It makes me want to claw my eyes out.

I did several tests this morning. This is Time Warner Internet using wireless router at my home.

And even that is slow nowdays. Most home cable internet connections are between 10 and 20 Mbps.

LTE is what all the carriers are moving to, even internationally. LTE-Advanced is supposed to have those crazy speeds. I don't think it's been deployed yet though...they just finalized the standards and the equipment isn't available yet. LTE is what MetroPCS, Verizon, and AT&T have launched as 4G.

Way more than doubled. This was my work connection, the one that was 1.5 Mb/s on Cbeyond's T1. Now we're on Clear's 4G modem. We've been getting anywhere from about 4 Mb/s up to 12 Mb/s. I went around and talked to all the neighboring businesses about their internet connections and found out two of them are on Clear. Called them and had the modem the next day. But I had to wait a few days to get an IT guy out to configure our hardware firewall. I'm pretty happy with the improvement!

You can check your speed by going to http://speedtest.net/ on your mobile browser. I am pretty sure it will work on a Torch.
