1 shot and clean for the first 4
        2 shots and clean
3 shots and clean for the next 9 shots
5 shots and clean for next 10 shots

take your time, don't rush it.

I have read some articles that there is no such thing as break in.....so do some research you will find opinions vary...pick a method that makes sense to you and go with it. I do believe in keeping one clean for consistent repeatability.

Shoot it a whole bunch and get it hot and dip it in a cold bucket

Had a rifle re-barrelled and the 'smith that did it told me to "go out and kill something", but I've done it both ways.

clean it properly with a bore guide if applicable and go shoot groups...it's either gonna shoot or it isn't.

Cleaning the gun incorrectly will ruin a good bbl.
