    Navigation App for IPhone

Are there any good free or cheap Navigation apps for the iPhone? I know Garmin came out with one but it was like $40 or so...

The reason I ask is because a guy I work with had a cool free navigation app on his droid phone that mad wit just like a handheld gps you would use in your car.

Motion X sucks compared to Navigon (now owned by Garmin).

$40 is still a lot cheaper than any automotive style GPS on the market too.

I tried several of the free and cheap ones, and finally jumped off & bought the garmin. Was worth it imo...

I just looked at that Navigon app.
That one is very nice. They have several for all over the place too.

Xgps isn't too bad itself either

But for some reason I like the stock one.

I use Telenav. It's free and works well.

the map app that came loaded on my iPhone is way more accurate / dependable than my Garmin Nuvi GPS.

Question for the guys that use the free ones:

Are you losing nav service when you lose phone service? That was the problem i was having.... I live out here in the middle of nowhere, so lose service often. And travelling through new mexico, colorado i lost nav almost constantly.

Thats why i went with garmin app- it uses gps. So far i havent lost nav service, even with no phone signal

                        Just curious...

Map quest it's voice activated and free. As for the service I believe it is through the provider, it does give you a "list" of turns and directions that stays with you in bad service areas.
