DoomsDay Clock?

I saw on the news this morning where some scientists have moved the doomsday clock to 5 minutes till midnight which is supposedly a countdown to a nuclear holucaust. I was set at 6 minutes to midnight in 2010 but because of the world (Iran and some others) situation changing they have determined to set the clock up 1 minute.

Is there any evidence to support this clock?

Closest it has ever been to midnight was during the Cuban missle crisis. It was set to 2 min. to midnight.

But truly it is symbolic and does not mean much.
