    Bow upgrade advice

Looking to upgrade my bow but not sure if I should. I shoot a Mathews Drenalin and it does great. I was thinking of upgrading to the new Heli M. Really it's not much better though. Half a pound lighter and 10 fps faster.

    What do y'all think?

Or a Z7. Wont buy any bow with a brace height under 7in and will only buy a solo cam bow.

nope, not enough of an upgrade on specs. (to me)

i was leery of going under a 7" brace height for years. i have shot several bows under it but never owned one. i tried the z7mag and bought it. just as good or better with it than any other bow ive owned

If it isn't broke don't fix it. Stick with what your'e used to until Mathews blows the word away with big updates.

Unless there's something you don't like about the Drenalin, I can't see why you'd even consider changing? Especially for such a insignificant change. All you're talking about is spending a bunch of money and having to spend a lot of time getting comfortable with a different bow. Seems like a waste of time and money. I'm assuming you're successful with your Drenalin? If so, don't change it unless you HAVE to or there's some MAJOR change like an additional 100fps!

I fell into that marketing trap of wanting the latest and greatest bow each year. Finally figured out that was a pointless money pit that only benefitted the manufacturer and the dealer - not me. I sold off a bunch of newer bows and am back shooting my older Mathews.' They work great and are as comfortable as an old friend and killing machines.

I would suggest finding a good bow shop and letting them take it apart check everything out, put on new strings and cables, and do a real tuning job on it. I had Jerry at Rednek Booda do this for me last year, and it made my old Q2XL shoot like a brand new bow again.
